 The Nightjar Production

The fabulous Suitcase Stories are with us again this year – you may recall Jack and the Beanstalk from last year.

A Storyteller  arrives at the library, carrying everything she needs to tell the story, of a girl called Abena who has to leave Ghana with her family.

They travel on a boat to England and come to live in Southampton. Abena goes to school and learns how to fit in, however she misses her home in Ghana. The Nightjar bird shows her the New Forest and helps her understand that she can have two homes in her heart.

This is a free event for children and there is no need to book, but we do expect this event to be popular, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

(There has been a mistake on the Ringwood date, it should read Wednesday 8th April.)

Hopefully we shall see lots of you at the event.

Milford on Sea Youth Football Club

Milford on Sea Youth Football Club, a volunteer-run grassroots club supporting young players from Milford, Hordle and the surrounding communities.

We are excited to be launching a brand new U11 girls football team – The Milford Lionesses – for next season, and we are currently inviting girls in School Year 5, or confident Year 4 players, to come along and try football in a fun and supportive environment.

Training will take place:

📍 Hordle Recreation Ground

📅 Fridays

⏰ 5:00pm – 6:00pm

📆 Starting Friday 3rd April 2026

Our aim is to develop the squad over the coming months ready to compete in the Hampshire Girls Youth Football League next season, with matches played on Saturdays.

Grassroots sport plays an important role in helping children build confidence, teamwork and friendships outside the classroom, and we are keen to create more opportunities for girls locally.

Parents interested in finding out more can contact us via social media or email:

Thank you very much for supporting local youth sport.
